Jonathan Anderson has been appointed as the new Dior Men artistic director officially, replacing Kim Jones, who resigned in January 2025. The appointment was confirmed by LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault at the annual shareholders' meeting of the company in April 17, 2025.
Anderson, a Northern Irish fashion designer, is known for his creative and conceptual designs. He established his eponymous brand, JW Anderson, in 2008, which became celebrated for its conceptual designs in a short time. Anderson became the head of Loewe in 2013, turning the Spanish luxury brand into a contemporary fashion giant with sales of around €1 billion per annum.
He had a stellar period at Loewe with exceptional collections and artistic collaborations, as seen in the world-famous Puzzle bag and a memorable ad campaign with Daniel Craig. Anderson's designs tend to cross the boundaries of art and fashion, using cultural and historical influences.
Anderson's arrival at Dior Men marks a period of major change in the luxury fashion world. His inaugural collection at Dior is scheduled to be released during the Paris Men's Fashion Week in June 2025. There has been speculation that Anderson may be in command of Dior's women's collection, but Maria Grazia Chiuri remains the creative director of Dior Women.
Industry observers are keeping a close eye to see how Anderson will bring his unique creative flair to Dior's men's wear, blending innovation with the storied history of the brand.
