Sydney Sweeney may be the star of the rom-com Anyone But You, but she refuses to let the public into her personal life with fiancé Jonathan Davino.

The Euphoria actress has been engaged to Davino since 2022 after the two sparked dating rumors in 2018. Sweeney, on the other hand, has remained mostly silent about her relationship, preferring to keep the details to herself.

"Everyone is always asking who I'm with and what it's like, but I think it's important to have something for myself," she told Glamour UK in December 2023. "Otherwise, I'm very open." I talk a lot, which sometimes gets me in trouble, but I try to keep something for myself."

Sweeney has debunked some rumors about him, most notably that he is not a restaurateur, and revealed that after six years together, they have begun to collaborate on producing projects.

He is a businessman from Chicago

Several media outlets previously reported that Davino was a restaurateur and owner of several closed Chicago restaurants, which Sweeney clarified is not the case.

"He's not a restaurateur," she explained to Glamour UK. "I'm not sure where that came from." He's also not the heir to a pizza business. He is a businessman. He was born in Chicago. We've been following [this story] for six years, and I'm like, 'What the hell?' "

He and Sweeney were first seen together in 2018

The couple first sparked rumors when they were seen together at several parties, including Hulu's 2018 Emmy Party and an InStyle and Kate Spade dinner party.

They were spotted sitting courtside at a New York Knicks basketball game in Madison Square Garden the following year.

Fans had to wait another year for another glimpse of the evasive couple. Sweeney and Davino were photographed kissing and enjoying the sun on a beach in Maui, Hawaii, in November 2020.

They got engaged in 2022

When Sweeney stepped out in February 2022 with a diamond ring on her left ring finger, PEOPLE confirmed the two were engaged. Though she hasn't commented on her engagement since (she told Glamour UK she had "no comment"), she has been open about her wedding plans.

Sweeney told Entertainment Tonight in December 2023 that she has been too preoccupied to plan her wedding yet, but she is excited about it.

"I'm always working!" When asked how the planning process was going, she said, "I'm a workaholic and I love it, I love it."

She explained to Glamour UK that while she and Davino had yet to discuss the specifics, she already had a ton of ideas saved on a Pinterest board she started as a child.

"What girl doesn't create a Pinterest board for their wedding?" said the White Lotus actress. "I started doing that when I was about ten." I haven't decided on a color scheme yet. I'm more of an experienced planner, so I think to myself, "What experience do I want to give people?" Will we be taking a tropical vacation? "Are we having a carnival?"

Sweeney also stated that Davino had not yet seen the board.

Sweeney desires a large family in the future

Though wedding bells are still a ways off, Sweeney has considered how she and Davino will expand their family.

"I'm thinking about having four kids," she revealed to Glamour UK. "I fantasize about teaching them to ski when they're little and having them accompany me on adventures, taking them on hikes, teaching them how to build tree houses, and just living through their imaginations." That's something I'm looking forward to."

Though the wedding bells are still ringing, Sweeney has thought about how she and Davino will expand their family.

"I'm thinking about having four kids," she told Glamour UK. They have collaborated

Davino didn't work in the film industry before they started dating. However, in the last six years of their relationship, the two have started a business together, frequently producing side by side.

Sweeney and Davino even collaborated on her rom-com, Anyone But You.

"Jonathan is my producing partner, so he helped put the whole thing together," she explained to Glamour UK. "It's fantastic to work with someone who knows you so well and who fully supports your ideas, vision, and voice... And it's lovely. Who doesn't want to spend all of their time with their best friend?"

In an August 2023 interview with Variety, she explained that she enjoys working with Davino because she enjoys "working with smart individuals."

Sweeney would rather keep her relationship private

Sweeney has shared some details about her relationship, but she has remained mostly mum about Davino — and she wants to keep it that way.

Sweeney stated on the cover of Cosmopolitan in February 2022 that she avoids dating people "in the spotlight" on purpose.

"I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest," she went on to say. "I have an excellent support system. I have people who will fight for me and let me stand on a pedestal and shine without making me feel like, "Oh no, I'm shining too brightly, and I need to take a step back."

She also told Glamour UK that she keeps her love life private because she understands how rare a "steady" relationship can be in Hollywood.

"I've been in a steady relationship for a long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age," the reality TV star stated. "What I've noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up, and then tear them down."
