A deeper look at Kim Kardashian's dramatic Dolce & Gabbana outfits

Kim Kardashian is an expert at letting her clothing speak for themselves, so it was no surprise that she attended Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda show and afterparty in Puglia this week wearing not one but two striking dresses. The event was held in Alberobello, a small village and Unesco World Heritage Site known for its profusion of Trulli, the region's renowned cone-roofed stone houses. In addition to the high fashion display, the area also featured local artisans who made food, toys, and ornaments by hand.

The reality personality and founder of SKIMS arrived in an outrageously OTT purple off-the-shoulder gown with a huge, heavy train, dramatic diamond jewelry, and transparent high heels. She posed for photographs in front of an olive tree backdrop in the streets of Puglia.

Kardashian sat in the front row with singer Anitta, actress Kerry Washington, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and her mother Kris Jenner. Venus Williams and Christian Bale were among the guests at the event, and she gushed about everything about it in a series of Instagram posts, from the local cuisine to the music. Along with a selfie with Fran Drescher, an actress she referred to as "my fashion icon!"

A further spectacular attire is then required. Later that evening, a similarly striking appearance. Kardashian wore a floor-length black dress, a large sunburst holy heart pendant, and a lengthy face veil to the after-show party.
