Delta Galil Agrees to Purchase Passionata Lingerie Brand

Delta Galil

The 35-year-old, internationally renowned Passionata brand will help the acquisitive Tel Aviv-based fashion company expand its intimate business with its whimsical and sensuous styling. The brand was purchased from the Chantelle Group.

"This is a unique and valuable addition to our global brand portfolio," stated Delta Galil CEO Isaac Dabah, "because Passionata resonates so strongly with Millennial women who are confident in expressing their sensuality."As we accelerate Passionata's growth across 18 different countries and all distribution channels, we're excited to strengthen our position in women's intimates. We have a long history of growing brands, improving in-store and e-commerce experiences, and reaching target audiences through effective advertising.

Passionata has a strong internet presence as well as wholesale accounts in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Antonio Iandolo, president of Delta Textile France, a member of the Eminence Group that the company purchased in 2018, will serve as the brand's leader. The international team based in France will oversee the management of the brand, but the company as a whole will provide back-office support.

Chantelle will be the only licensee allowed to manage the brand until July, according to Delta Galil, which anticipates the deal to be completed in January.

Passionata will complement the product line of Delta Galil, which produces a variety of branded and private label clothing in a number of categories, such as loungewear, men's underwear, and women's intimate apparel, in addition to denim and clothing sold under the 7 for All Mankind brand.

The deal also advances Chantelle's development, as during the previous few years, the company sold off both the Chantal Thomass brand and its Orcanta multibrand lingerie retail network.

Guillaume Kretz, CEO of Chantelle Group, said: “The decision to transition Passionata aligns with the Chantelle Group’s vision of strengthening and unifying its brands under the formidable Chantelle name. Our aim is to bolster our brands collaboratively, venture into fresh markets and categories, and enchant a newer clientele. Delta Galil will reinforce Passionata’s multicategory product offer, unique selling proposition, and purpose by investing in marketing and elevating the brand’s e-commerce and in-store presence.”
