Come on, my loves, shine! Even though it's the weekend, the fashion business "DOES NOT REST"! But this morning, we got some news that was well worth giving up our lie-ins for: after months of hysterical rumors since Alessandro Michele of Gucci left late last year, his replacement has finally been revealed.
Sabato De Sarno, who according to his LinkedIn is now the fashion director of Valentino's men's and women's ready-to-wear collections, will take the lead at the gem in Kering's crown, one of fashion's genuine titans with reported revenues of a staggering $11 billion. The Neapolitan creative director added to his already impressive resume by working at Prada and Dolce & Gabbana before joining the Roman Maison back in 2009.
“I am deeply honored to take on the role of Creative Director of Gucci,” he said. “I am proud to join a House with such an extraordinary history and heritage, that over the years has been able to welcome and cherish values I believe in. I am touched and excited to contribute my creative vision for the brand.”
