On Saturday, September 2, the 24-year-old actress wed Steven, a director of film and television, at the sizable private estate La Fortaleza in Mallorca, Spain.
The private event was attended by over 100 of Joey and Steven's closest friends and family, including a star-studded guest list that included former co-stars Zach Braff, Michelle Williams, Patricia Arquette, and Logan Lerman.
Throughout her wedding weekend, Joey wore four separate and unique Oscar de la Renta gowns, including a bespoke silk faille gown for the ceremony - a multi-layered, couture silk fusion gown with row upon row of faille petals fused and sewed by hand.
"Joey looked positively radiant in all of her looks," a bystander said of the looks created by ODLR co-creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim. "The dresses were flawless as if they were custom-made for her."
Joey stood tall and strong in 6.5" Balenciaga platform heels for the ceremony, then switched to Celine platform sneakers for the reception to let loose on the dance floor. For the Friday night rehearsal dinner, she donned a white quirky ODLR dress. Joey wore the ODLR Raffia Fringe Knit Mini Dress with Amanu sandals to the Sunday afternoon post-wedding pool party before changing into a colorful, flowery cut-out one-piece swimsuit by SAME.
“I always wanted to wear something classic but also modern and unique at the same time,” Joey told Vogue of her ceremony gown, which she accessorized with a sparkling pair of floral dangling earrings from Zydo. “For months, I went to so many bridal shops and tried on so many dresses until my stylist [Jared Eng] showed me Oscar de la Renta’s bridal collection. I knew instantly they were perfect. We flew to New York, had a fitting with [creative director Fernando Garcia] and the rest is history.”
Steven looked dapper in a black and white Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo and patent Gianvito Rossi shoes for the wedding.
The couple chose Mallorca for their wedding after falling in love with La Fortaleza, a historic property regarded to be one of Spain's most prestigious estates.
“We knew we wanted to get married overseas but didn’t exactly know where,” the happy couple told Vogue. “We were looking for something unique, private, and something that felt grand yet intimate at the same time. We found something that gave us the Spanish version of Gatsby. It’s historic without being dated, it felt timeless, the same way we feel about our love for each other. Thanks to our wonderful wedding planners [Alison Bryan Destinations], they nailed it, and found us the venue of our dreams.”
Joey's The Kissing Booth 2 and 3 co-star Taylor Zakhar Perez, The Act co-star AnnaSophia Robb with photographer husband Trevor Paul, The Uglies co-star Brianne Tju with music supervisor fiance Rob Lowry, cute couple Phoebe Dynevor and Cameron Fuller, Kaitlin Dever, The In-Between co-star Kyle Allen, and Kevin Miles were also present.
Joey also told Vogue that the best part of the wedding was “seeing all of our friends who didn’t know each other just melting into one another and instantly connecting. We are surrounded by the best people and seeing them all together was infectiously joyous.”
