Tom Ford Fashion has appointed Gavazza as its new CEO

A declaration has long been anticipated. Back in April, when Lauder chose Guillaume Jesel as the President and CEO of the overall Tom Ford business and Peter Hawkings as creative director at Tom Ford, it claimed that Zegna had named a new CEO of the fashion industry. It stated that the key executive would be revealed in July and start in the third quarter.

According to schedule, Gavazza starts her new job on September 18 and will be directly responsible to Zegna Group Chairman and CEO Ermenegildo "Gildo" Zegna. He "will be a member of the group's senior management."

According to the brand, he will "be responsible for the end-to-end management of the Tom Ford Fashion business, including collection development, merchandising, production, retail, and wholesale distribution."

Gavazza, who joined from LVMH and is currently Executive Vice-President, Sales & Retail at Bulgari, has over 20 years of expertise in global luxury and luxury distribution. Prior to his present position, he held a number of important regional leadership positions during his career at Bulgari, including MD of Greater China and MD of Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

That background will be crucial. It supports Zegna's declared goal of elevating Tom Ford to a leading position among global fashion houses and, in particular, of extending its reach outside of the US.

His history of "strong global leadership" and "outstanding luxury expertise" in retail management, wholesale distribution, marketing, digital, and important areas, such as China, were praised by Gildo Zegna.

He also emphasized his "world-class business acumen, profound international experience, and leadership skills" because he had known him for a while.

As Guillaume Jesel oversees Lauder's larger Tom Ford business, Gavazza "will work closely with" him to "ensure the alignment of fashion with the holistic luxury strategy for the brand."
