Doja Cat will headline The Victoria's Secret World Tour. It's a significant event not only for the artist but also for the brand: The event, which is half fashion show, part documentary, is Victoria's Secret's first appearance on television since its final televised runway show in 2018.
“Victoria’s Secret has always been such a fun, go-to brand for me since early on, and I love that I can still say that today,” Doja Cat tells Bazaar ahead of the show’s premiere on Prime Video on September 26. “Being a part of a global phenomenon like the Tour has been an incredible experience.”
Victoria's Secret fans will be introduced to the VS20, a group of 20 creatives from across the world that collaborated with the brand on ensembles for a newly imagined version of its hallmark runway event, via the World Tour. Doja Cat also helped create her ensembles for the special performance, including a futuristic nude-hued latex number she designed with the Victoria's Secret team and her creative director, Brett Alan Nelson.
Like many of us, she says, sees Victoria’s Secret as one of the forces that helped shape her personal outlook on beauty and sex appeal.
“My idea of what makes me beautiful, sexy, and confident has evolved so much over the years, but I’ve always known that what matters most is how I feel about myself,” she says. “To me, sexy is being comfortable in my own skin and celebrating myself for who I am. Being a part of the Tour really helped connect me with that.”
Looking past the World Tour, Doja Cat is actively working on new music for her fans, and she plans to give them a taste come September 26.
“I don’t want to spoil too much, but like past projects, there’s lots of different energy to songs, plus new sounds that I’ve never explored before,” she teases. “So that is exciting to me, and I can’t wait to put it out.”
